Crunchyroll released the first subtitled trailer for Haikyu ahead of its spring release in the US

Crunchyroll has confirmed the North American release date of Haikyu — Haikyu!! Garbage Battle — in the first official English-subtitled teaser trailer revealed.

As previously reported, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle will be released in the United States on May 31, 2024, receiving its first official trailer in English today, April 24. The trailer teases the fateful showdown between Kenma and Haikyu!! protagonist Shoyo Hinata, ending with the latter's challenge of “A match without a rematch!” Readers can check out the trailer, key art and stills from the film below.

Haikyu!! Battle of the Dumpster was a huge box office success

Released in Japan on February 16, 2024, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle has been a huge domestic box office success, grossing more than $63 million as of April 24. More than 5% of Japan's population or 6.1 million people have seen the film. The growing importance of overseas earnings to the anime industry continues to be evident, with Haikyu making its international debut just months after its Japanese release. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have also confirmed accelerated distribution of the new Blue Lock movie in the US.

Haikyu joins Spy x Family as one of the most anticipated animated films of 2024

Haikyu!! along with fellow anime blockbuster and IG Port-production Spy x Family Code: White is one of this year's most anticipated theatrical anime titles. Released last week, Spy x Family took in a respectable $4.8 million in the US. What's more, Spy x Family Code: White is currently one of the highest-rated anime films ever on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 96% critic score and 98% audience score. Reviews say the film makes for a great indie film while also adding more dynamic to the Forger family that fans know and love.

A confrontation between two opposing weak teams? Susumu Mitsunaka is both the director and scriptwriter, adapting the original manga by Haruichi Furudate. The film's duration is 85 minutes.
