Anime Crossover Joy when the danger in my heart meets Re:ZERO

Observing collaborations and crossovers in anime can often be a fascinating experience. It often works seamlessly when the series involved share a creator or are in the same genre. However, when series come from different creators or genres, the results of the crossover can be uncertain.

However, when such combinations work, it is a pleasant surprise. A recent example of this is the short video that intertwines The Dangers in My Heart and Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- (Re:Zero).

Both the official X (formerly Twitter) accounts for The Dangers in My Heart and Re:Zero announced the collaboration on February 20. Each tweet introduced female characters Anna Yamada (voiced by by Hina Yomiya) from The Dangers in My Heart and Rem (voiced by Hina Yomiya). Inori Minase) from Re:Zero are wearing each other's outfits.

In addition to the original artwork, a collaborative anime short was uploaded to NUMAnimation's YouTube channel on February 20. It stars The Dangers in My Heart's Kyotaro Ishikawa and Anna Yamada alongside Re:'s Rem: Zero has an unexpected encounter in Ikebukuro.

The story revolves around Ishikawa and Yamada's visit to a cooperative cafe in Ikebukuro, where they unexpectedly meet Rem, whom Ishikawa mistakes for a cosplayer. The trio then go to the Sunshine Building to participate in a cosplay event, in which Yamada dresses up as Rem.

The story ends with Ishikawa contemplating Rem's identity, while Rem teasingly calls Ishikawa and Yamada lovebirds, echoing her catchphrase from Re:Zero.

This collaboration between The Dangers in My Heart and Re:Zero is intriguing and well done. While it would be interesting to see characters like Rem's sister Ram or Emilia from Re:Zero brought in to add humor, the existing content is very enjoyable.

Unfortunately, it appears this short was a one-off, implying that further interactions between these characters are unlikely. However, fans of The Dangers in My Heart or Re:Zero will appreciate watching this video.
