Publisher Scholastic's Graphix has announced that it will release the first volume of Unico: Awakening on August 6, 2024. The title is Scholastic's first in the manga market and was initially funded through 2022 Kickstarter campaign.

Unico: Awakening is a reimagining of Osamu Tezuka's 1976 manga that released a total of two tankobon volumes. It was developed in collaboration with Tezuka Productions, with Samuel Sattin (A Kid's Guide to Anime & Manga, The Essential Anime Guide: 50 Iconic Films) credited as the manga's author and Gurihiru (Gwenpool, Spider-Man & Venom: Double Trouble) as illustrator. The book features colorful artwork and left-to-right pages in a Western comic style consistent with the original manga.

Unico tells the unforgettable story of a young unicorn who, after angering the goddess Venus with his ability to positively influence human emotions, is banished from paradise and transported through space and time. time until he forgot everything he had.
