Book my show, PVR cinemas list 'The Boy & The Heron' releases on May 10 in India

The official websites of Book My Show and PVR Cinemas have listed the release date of Hayao Miyazaki's Oscar-winning animated film, The Boy & the Heronis May 10, 2024 in India.

However, neither Warner Bros. India and PVR Cinemas are yet to make an official announcement at the time of writing.

It was previously revealed that Warner Bros. India will release The Boy & the Heron in India, however, the exact release date is yet to be revealed.

The Boy and The Heron (Is called How Do You Live), was released in Japan on July 14, 2023. It became the first Studio Ghibli film to receive a simultaneous IMAX release. It also became the first Japanese film and animation to open the 48th Toronto International Film Festival.

The film tested a unique marketing strategy in which the studio decided not to advertise the film.

Joe Hisashi composes music for anime films. The film has 37 soundtracks including the theme song. Kenshi Yonezu performed the film's theme song, “Chikyuugi”.

The film will be available to stream on Netflix outside the US and Japan, however, a release date has not been confirmed at the time of writing!

The plot of the film is described as follows:

The film's plot is set in World War II. Mahito Maki, the main character, is a young boy who tragically lost his mother in a hospital fire. When his father remarried, they moved from Tokyo to a villa in the countryside. This mansion happened to be his mother's hometown, and his father's new wife was his mother's sister. With complicated emotions, Masato is guided by a mysterious gray heron and finds himself entering another world.
