It is set in the One Piece universe many years before Luffy's quest to become Pirate King. The story revolves around legendary samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma and his epic battle against a fearsome dragon.

In the modern timeline of One Piece, Ryuma, who was turned into a zombie by Gecko Moria, appears.

Zoro eventually faced and defeated Ryuma, gaining a powerful sword named Shusui, known as the Black Blade.

Oda then revealed that Zoro is actually a descendant of Ryuma and is from the Shimotsuki clan in Wano Country.

This connection between the two characters is expanded upon in the Netflix animated series, narrated by Kazuya Nakai, who also voices Zoro in the Japanese anime version.

Inside the journey of Zoro, the legendary One Piece swordsman

Zoro is a skilled warrior in the Straw Hat pirates. He is one of two sword warriors and also the top officer of the Straw Hat Fleet.

Everyone knows him as Captain Monkey D. Luffy's right hand man. Previously he was a bounty hunter. He was the second person to join Luffy's crew and he did so during the Romance Dawn Arc.

Zoro was born in East Blue. His parents are Tera and Roronoa Arashi. His grandparents are Shimotsuki Furiko and Roronoa Pinzoro.

He is also the nephew of Shimotsuki Ushimaru. This makes him related to both the Shimotsuki Clan from the Country of Wano and the famous samurai, Shimotsuki Ryuma.

Zoro is very good at using three swords at the same time. He came up with this style as a child while training in Shimotsuki Village. In the Straw Hat Pirates, he is one of the three best warriors, along with Luffy and Sanji.

They call them the Monster Trio. Zoro's biggest dream is to become the best swordsman ever. He promised his childhood friend and cousin, Kuina, who had passed away, that he would achieve this dream.

In addition to being famous as a member of the Straw Hat Pirates and a bounty hunter in the past, Zoro also gained more attention when he accompanied Luffy to the Sabaody Archipelago.

The large prize money helped them become one of the 11 Super Rookies. These were the pirates who came to the Red Line with a bounty of over 100,000,000 Beli, just before the Summit War.

Zoro, along with the other 10 Super Rookies and Marshall D. Teach, were later considered the Worst Generation.

Zoro is a large, strong guy with slightly tanned skin. He always carries three swords with him and one of them is called Wado Ichimonji.
