Studio MAPPA animated the scene where Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan

Dragon Ball is one of the giant anime created by Toei Animation, which continues to win the hearts of fans no matter how many years it has been released. One of the most iconic moments of the movie is the scene where Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan for the first time.
Recently, studio MAPPA paid tribute to this iconic, breathtaking moment in the third episode of “Oblivion Battery”, by inserting an easter egg, showing Goku in his Super Saiyan form.
This tribute was designed by Shun Sawai, who was invited by the director of “Oblivion Battery” to animate this special look. The scene received official approval before production, providing a look at how MAPPA would approach the animation of one of anime's greatest heroes.
Furthermore, Goku and his adventures in Dragon Ball have inspired countless memes and cameos in other works, many of which involve the character Yamcha. However, for many fans, the reference made by MAPPA in “Oblivion Battery” was praised as one of the best.
