Well, Holo appears as a cute girl with wolf ears and tail while eating beef jerky. Sure, Lawrence was shocked to see a naked girl hiding under a cart full of furs, but he wouldn't have believed that she was the same wolf that appeared at pagan festivals.

That is until Holo ate a piece of grain and transformed into a giant wolf. As mentioned, it is the merchant who meets the wise wolf in this new anime adaptation of Passione.

Of course, what about the villagers who still believe in Holo the Wise Wolf?

Well, it seems they don't need Holo anymore as Yarei explains that the pagan ritual has evolved into a festival where people drink, dance and have fun.

And to bring it home even further, their village is being led by a new lord who teaches them new farming techniques, meaning that they don't need to pray to Holo for good harvests. . Oh, and they sell wheat to various merchants like Lawrence, for example.

In any case, it was sad that the villagers began to forget Holo's existence, but that was okay for the wise wolf as Holo planned to leave the village and return to his homeland.

Of course, she will have to go through many different places, including churches, where they do not like some villages that continue their pagan rituals. Oh, and they will persecute anyone who doesn't believe in a god… or claims to be a god like Holo, for example.

Luckily Lawrence had spare clothes for Holo to wear, not to mention hiding her ears and tail since everyone was still afraid of seeing a wolf girl.

And speaking of Holo, I have to say that she's okay because the wise wolf finally tasted freedom instead of staying in the village forever.

After that, I thought Lawrence should buy another set of clothes for his companion in case he and Holo got wet in the rain.

One last thing, it's time to introduce a rookie merchant named Zheren, where he tells Lawrence that a series of Trenni silver coins are circulating throughout the port town of Pazzio. Oh yes, Zheren added that the new batch of silver coins is worth more than the previous batch.

Although Zheren's claims are too good to be true, it seems this rookie dealer is lying as Holo knows it by looking at his actions, words and even behavior of traders. So yeah, I think Kraft Lawrence will have to keep his eyes open because who knows when a scammer has tricked him into hell.

Anyway, I'd really like to see the 2024 version of Spice and Wolf. While it was a nostalgic trip seeing Lawrence and Holo again, I think Kadokawa and Passione will go even harder to deliver the full experience with this new anime adaptation.
