Conditional Love Review and Summary Episode 3 – Hotaru Cares

Be prepared to be disappointed that Hananoi and Hotaru don't kiss. When the second episode of A Condition Called Love ended, everyone thought that our couple would definitely kiss, but what happened was that our main character fainted from fever. Hotaru quickly called Hananoi's grandmother and realized that the reason he was acting strange was because he felt unwell. So she felt guilty when she came up with the meaningless idea of kissing to find out if they loved each other or not.

This feeling of guilt made her sad and she kept thinking about it for days. Here, we can clearly see that Hotaru has no confidence in herself at all and is quick to take all the blame, even if it's definitely not her fault. She realized that she came across as insensitive and that it was good to acknowledge her own mistakes, but feeling guilty over such a small issue was also not good for her emotional health.

The day on Christmas Eve is a pretty big day for Hotaru for a special reason. She wanted to spend that day with her lover like she usually spent with her family. But now Hananoi is sick and because Hotaru thinks she insulted him, Hotaru decides not to contact Hananoi and let him rest.

However, things are not simple, because our main character is not a normal person. He is someone who cares for his partner excessively, to the point of being excessive. His relationships have ended because of this in the past, and things like this won't stop him from approaching Hotaru. So even when his Hotaru didn't contact him, Hananoi still tried his best to reach where she was, even when he was just recovering from his fever.

Then there follow the sweet moments between them and the revelation of why Hotaru wanted to feel special on Christmas Eve. One thing is for sure, Hotaru definitely realized that she loved Hananoi at this point and she was too embarrassed to admit it. Their relationship will continue and I hope the day will come when she will admit it herself to Hananoi.

Decision

This episode is so nice and cute because it shows how overthinking can lead to problems that only exist in our heads. Relationships are definitely difficult to manage when two people have very different personalities, let's work together. But when the right people enter a relationship, even problems find solutions. This is really a good and touching movie.
