YOASOBI is a musical duo consisting of composer Ayase and singer-songwriter Ikura (Lilas Ikuta). Ayase, who began composing using Hatsune Miku Vocaloid software in 2018, collaborated with Ikura in 2019, forming the duo, and they released their first single “Yoru ni Kakeru” in December 2019. The single became a viral hit in and outside of Japan, and was a breakthrough success for the duo. YOASOBI performed both the opening and ending themes for the second season of the anime BEASTARS, and also performed the opening theme song “Shukufuku” for the anime Mobile Suit Gunma: The Witch From Mercury.

The duo's next breakthrough hit was the song “Idol” from last year's Oshi no Ko anime. The song broke many records in Japan and abroad. The duo performed the opening theme song “Yūsha” for the recent anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
