This episode seems to be full of set pieces and a lot of screaming, but not much else. You could argue that this is what most of KONOSUBA is about, but this episode seems aimless in its development. It has a premise, and that's it. That doesn't mean I didn't find the episode funny because I did. Perhaps the best joke in this episode is Kazuma and Co. is one of the worst guests you can have. I almost feel bad for the disgusting nobleman who is trying his best to present himself as a victim.

However, most of the jokes were repetitive or felt too disconnected from the rest of the premise, which let things down. gets less funny as the episode progresses. While I liked the visual metaphor of the camera cutting to something else to alleviate Kazuma's groping tendencies (mainly because I didn't have to see it with my own eyes), the joke about him JUST COLOR Someone is not funny at all. It's definitely in his character to try not to get involved because he knows it will cause him trouble, such as when he refused Chris to explain her situation. Still, that joke is repeated throughout the episode until it seems to have run its course. Not much point here. KONOSUBA has episodes that revolve around cute jokes but this episode doesn't seem to try to hide it.

Even episode one is said to have a character in Kazuma realizing that he can't escape the madness even if he wanted to. The best parts of this episode were the foreshadowing and more realistic moments between the characters. One highlight is when Megumin asks Kazuma out on a date, and it just boils down to their usual outings where he drags her home after seeing her throw a tantrum. angry. I'm sure some of him feels disappointed, but Kazuma's repeated pampering of her emphasizes their relationship. Additionally, I'm curious about the subplot involving the secret items being stolen. Are we setting up Kazuma to get a new weapon or something so he can prove himself, or is this all just a smokescreen for something else? It's hard to say, but I hope we have something a little more solid besides the laughs next week.
