The trailer of the highly anticipated Berserk: The Black Swordsman fan anime has received an official release date of May 15, 2024, as announced via the official X page of Studio Eclypse (formerly Twitter). Berserk: The Black Swordsman's upcoming trailer is being billed as Guts by professional cosplayers

A professional “Real Life Guts” cosplayer went viral on social media before Studio Eclypse revealed the debut trailer for Berserk: The Black Swordsman.

As the post states, this is the third key image for this exciting project. The second image, released last month, has an eerie tone, a reference to the God Hand and Crimson Behelit. Meanwhile, the first look at Berserk: The Black Swordsman was released late last year, featuring Guts in a dark setting as he takes on a fearsome dragon. The upcoming trailer was first revealed to be shown at Otakufest Saltillo on May 18-19, meaning fans can see the trailer sooner than expected.

The ongoing Berserk manga is the best-selling title in the US

Hype for Berserk continues to grow, as evidenced by recent US sales data. Behind The Manga just released new sales data for March 2024, revealing that Dark Horse Comics' Berserk had the #1 best-selling volume by dollar amount for that month. Berserk Deluxe Volume 1 shipped 14,499 units at a price of $49.99 each, earning about $725k. That's more than double My Hero Academia Volume 37 in second place, with $313k, with Berserk Deluxe Volume 2 (Hardcover) coming in first at $306k. Berserk is also one of the best-selling manga titles every year in the US; a data analysis by Circana Bookscan revealed that the series ranked fifth, behind Jujutsu Kaisen in fourth place and Spy x Family in third place.
